Covid Crashes the early 2022 Show scene but later shows will go ahead.

The start of 2022 has seen a number of main industry shows cancelled or postponed. Our industry is constantly debating the value of attending or visiting shows and some are maybe happy about the reduction in shows so far this year. However, they are a great source of information, inspiration, new contacts and meeting new people. Getting out an about and seeing what else goes on in our industry is a must for most of us.

Unfortunately we have seen that LAMMA has been moved to May 4^th to 5^th at the NEC. BIGGA (BTME) has been moved to March 22^nd to 24^th. The biggest agricultural machinery show in the world, Agritechnica has once again been cancelled and will now be held 12^th to the 18^th November 2023 in Hanover.

The changed Agriscot has been cancelled again and will move back to its usual date of 16^th November 2022.

On a more positive note shows that will run later in the year are still planned to go ahead and we should be able to look forward to the summer round of County and Royal shows and the Royal Highland Show in June and the return of ScotGrass to Dumfries, Covid permitting.

ScotGrass is set to return to Crichton Royal Farm at Dumfries in 2022 by the kind permission of SRUC.

The event, which is being held on Wednesday 18^th May 2022, gives livestock farmers and grassland contractors the opportunity to see the latest grass conservation methods and machinery in action in field scale plots on a commercial dairy farm. Visitors will have the opportunity to see the latest grass harvesting machinery put through their paces in field scale plots. Visitors will also have the chance to talk to industry experts on technical subjects affecting the livestock industry and those supplying products and services into the livestock sector.
